Peter Wozniak, chief operating officer of Easton Hospital in Easton, Pa., has been chosen as the new chief executive officer of 312-bed Venice Regional Medical Center.
Wozniak replaces Melody Trimble, who has relocated to Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith, Ark., a 492-bed hospital recently purchased by Venice's parent company, Naples-based Health Management Associates. Trimble headed Venice since shortly after HMA's acquisition of the hospital nearly five years ago.
Wozniak and his wife, Patricia, are relocating and he will begin work at Venice on Jan. 4. “Peter is a patient-outcome, team-focused executive who possesses the skills of an effective leader, communicator, strategic thinker and relationship builder," said Josh Putter, a division vice president for HMA, in a prepared statement.
Wozniak has worked in Florida before, serving in an executive position at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs from 2002 to 2007. He has a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Wayne State University in Detroit, and a masters of science in administration from Madonna University in Livonia, Mich.
